The multiple Grammy Award nominated ensemble performs the world premieres of works by Viennese composer Arthur Willner (1881-1959) with artists from The Glenn Gould School.

Composed of the senior faculty of The Royal Conservatory’s Glenn Gould School, with special guests drawn from the organization’s most accomplished students and alumni, the three-time Grammy Award nominated ARC Ensemble is among Canada’s most distinguished cultural ambassadors. Performing a wide range of music, its focus remains the research and recovery of works that were suppressed and marginalized under the 20th century’s repressive regimes. A growing number of previously unknown masterworks are rejoining the repertoire as a result of the ARC Ensemble’s work.

“As always with this ensemble, performances could hardly be bettered in terms of execution and commitment.” (Gramophone)

Join ARC Ensemble’s Artistic Director, Simon Wynberg at 12:30pm for an engaging pre-concert chat to learn more about Arthur Willner’s life and works before experiencing the energetic world premieres of his music.

This pre-concert chat is co-presented by Koffler Arts.
