Using musical examples, with references from Al Jolson to Benny Goodman to modern Jewish jazz composers, come, explore the relationship between these musicians and the music they made.

 

About the instructor

Ben Young is Grammy-nominated Ben Young, a jazz researcher, historian and teacher working in the field via radio and the record business for 30 years. He has lectured at Lincoln Centre, Julliard, Columbia University, New York University and the Library of Congress.
