Join the klezmer revival! Jam with director Eric Stein and connect to Jewish music in this inspiring chamber group.

Category

Come join the winter term led by multi-instrumentalist and Ashkenaz Festival Artistic Director, Eric Stein.  Toronto’s longest-running klezmer workshop program offers a friendly and relaxed environment to get deep in the music within a group context.  Immerse in the vocabulary and forms of klezmer music while exploring approaches to rhythm, melody and improvisation.  Learn how to play as part of an ensemble, with special attention to instrumental function, arrangement principles, and dynamics.  All intermediate through professional players are welcome and no prior klezmer experience is necessary.  Whether you’re a diehard or neophyte, this group will scratch your Klezmer itch.
