To honour this year’s High Holidays, a time of personal and collective memory and reflection, TJFF presents this much-discussed film that will be fresh off its premiere at TIFF.

Celebrated Israeli filmmaker Avi Nesher (Past Lives, Turn Left at the End of The World) expertly weaves the stories of five ordinary men and women who each experience their own personal crises of love, family, or faith, believing they are living the worst day of their lives. However, they are unable to imagine that within hours their private despair will be overtaken by the national catastrophe of October 7th. As private grief collides with collective trauma, survival becomes more than physical endurance — it becomes a confrontation with the possibility of transformation.  Featuring an excellent ensemble cast that includes Lena Fraifeld (Valeria is Getting Married), Hadas Yaron (Félix & Meira) and Evelin Hagoel (Gett).
