Come to the Honey & Barry Community Park for The JCC Fall Shuk, as we bring together the best in cultural arts, performance, music, pottery, food, jewelry, clothing, and DIY masterpieces.
A practical workshop exploring how artists can use social media to build visibility, make connections, and promote their work without losing their artistic identity… or without feeling cringey every time they hit “post.”
We’ll talk about the real-life challenges of putting yourself and your work out there, figure out how to communicate who you are as an artist, and look at how different platforms can work for different goals. We’ll also explore ways to come up with content that feels authentic and doable, along with some basic tips for staying professional online and avoiding common pitfalls. The goal is to help artists feel more confident and intentional about their online presence, without feeling like they need to become an influencer.

About the facilitator:
Hailed as an “exciting dramatic soprano” (Opera Canada) with a “command over a powerful range of expressive emotion” (The Whole Note), Jaclyn Grossman’s recent performances include Brünnhilde in Die Walküre and Siegfried and Freia in Das Rheingold with Edmonton Opera, Nedda in Pagliacci and Nella in Gianni Schicchi with Opera Kelowna, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Buffalo Philharmonic under JoAnn Falletta.
As a Jewish dramatic soprano, she explores the intersection of the Germanic repertoire and voices silenced during this period. Likht’s Shoah Songbook recital series has recently been presented at Salle Bourgie, Ehrbar Saal, and the Münchner Kammerspiele.
Alongside her performing career, Jaclyn is a facilitator, producer, and arts leader. She serves as Programs Manager for Opera 5’s Portfolio Artist Internship Program and previously created and led the Association for Opera in Canada’s Professional Development Programs. She is also the founder of The Phoenix Leadership Project and regularly works with artist training programs across Canada.
