Join TJFF in celebrating National Canadian Film Day with a free ticketed screening of the newly restored classic Sunshine.

The epic film from Oscar-winning director István Szabó (Mephisto) and producer Robert Lantos, Sunshine is the story of three generations of the Sonnenscheins, a Jewish-Hungarian family that began when Hungary was ruled by the Austro-Hungarian empire. They changed their name to Sors in order to survive the years of Nazi occupation, and now face the fallout of the postwar Communist legacy. The central male protagonist of all three generations is portrayed by Ralph Fiennes. The film’s cast also includes Rachel Weisz,  John Neville, Jennifer Ehle, Deborah Kara Unger and Molly Parker.
