Ever thought of dipping your toe into the fun world of improvised comedy? If so, then this class is for you!
The State of Israel’s national Independence Day, Yom Ha’atzmaut, is a truly momentous day. It is widely observed and celebrated in Jewish communities around the globe and, of course, in Israel itself. For decades, the Mizrachi Canada Yom HaZikaron | Yom Ha’atzmaut commemoration and celebration has been the largest of its kind in Canada.
In partnership with the JCC, Mizrachi Canada, and the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto, this year’s combined Yom HaZikaron and Yom Ha’atzmaut ceremonies are anchored in the theme “Awakening the Dawn” – אעירה שחר. The phrase, drawn from Tehillim, expresses a powerful idea: rather than waiting for the dawn to arrive, the Jewish people take an active role in bringing its light forward.
After two and a half years of war, loss, and challenge, Israel and the Jewish people have also witnessed remarkable strength, rebuilding, and renewal. This year’s theme captures that emerging light and reminds us that the future of Am Yisrael is not only something we await, but something we help bring into being.
The location of the event will be announced closer to event day for security purposes.
