ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Amidst terrifying events and real danger, Goldenberg’s work explores the struggle to maintain strength and resilience. It reflects the challenge of keeping sanity and bravery alive while navigating the fragile balance between fleeting hope and paralyzing despair.
Even when the storm of conflict is not making headlines, its relentless presence continues to shape lives. Goldenberg’s art captures this precarious existence, where the shadow of imminent doom looms large, yet the human spirit endures, fighting to stay afloat against the odds.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in Volgograd, Russia, in 1980, Jane Goldenberg began drawing as a child and pursued early studies in art and architecture, later earning university diplomas in History and Education. After relocating to Israel in 2002, she studied illustration and taught art to children. In November 2023, Jane moved to Canada to protect her family from the ongoing war.
Her dynamic artwork, featuring bold colors and mixed media – including gouache, acrylic, coloured pencils and collages – explores the intricate nature of human struggle. Now in Canada, Jane continues to channel her experiences and insights into her art, addressing both personal and global challenges with intensity and depth.
