A CELEBRATION OF RABBI ERWIN SCHILD: FROM INTERNEE TO THE ORDER OF CANADA

FREE // REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Rabbi Schild was just weeks away from his Bar Mitzvah when the Nazis came to power in Germany. After surviving Kristallnacht and a month in Dachau, he escaped to London only to be interned in a prison camp when Britain joined the war. Initially sent to Canada as an enemy alien, Schild went on to become one of the country’s most beloved and influential rabbis. A special film celebrating Rabbi Schild’s unique story will be screened as part of this year’s Kristallnacht commemoration.

This program is generously sponsored by the Glicksman, Glick, Altschuler, Glassberg and Herschorn families.

If you are unable to attend this program in person, there will be a livestream available on the Virtual J’s  2022 Holocaust Education Week Channel on November 9 at 7:30 PM.
