The “Swinging Sixties” swept across the West like a tsunami, bringing with it a torrent of powerful personalities and events. In this exciting new series from Speakers Annex favourite Dr. Peter Harris, we’ll examine how a series of dramatic “turning points” during the 1960s altered the trajectory of life in the 20th Century, leading to sweeping changes in society and culture, politics and the arts.

From the election of JFK to the sultry sounds of Woodstock; from the landmark protest movements exploding in Berkeley and Paris to the cultural watershed that was Expo ‘67, The Spirit of the 60s will offer a rollicking look at the people, the movements and the earth-shaking events that left their mark on the grooviest of decades.
