Using interviews and archival recordings this film meticulously links the story of American Yiddish creativity with Guthrie’s art as rooted in the Oklahoma Dust Bowl of the 1930s.
This collection of films, showcasing a mix of filmmaking styles, offers a window into the physical and mental spaces that help define today’s Canadian Jewish experience. Various filmmakers from Toronto to Winnipeg reflect on the themes of identity, history, community and antisemitism; and a short story by Israeli writer Etgar Keret is adapted for the city of Vancouver.
