The Queer Text Study series is here to connect our community to text in an accessible, supportive and open space. Each month, we’ll join together with a Queer Jewish educator as we dive in together to connect to text.
LGBTQ at the J is excited to partner with Shir Libeynu this month led by current spiritual leader Rabbi Dara Lithwick.
Suggested donation of $10 to support our facilitator, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Email carag@mnjcc.org for any inquiries.
Rabbi Dara Lithwick is passionate about building bridges between people and communities and promoting inclusion as a fundamental Jewish practice. She is an advocate for LGBTQ2+ inclusion within diverse Jewish spaces.
When not at work as a constitutional and parliamentary affairs lawyer, Rabbi Lithwick is active as an outreach Rabbi at Temple Israel Ottawa, where she helps lead services and lifecycle events, teach adult and youth programs, and engage in outreach and social action initiatives. She leads High Holiday services at Congregation Shir Libeynu in Toronto. Rabbi Lithwick is the Canadian representative to the Union for Reform Judaism’s Commission on Social Action and chairs a Canadian Council for Reform Judaism group to develop a Canadian Tikkun Olam strategy. Rabbi Lithwick and her partner love chasing their two children around Ottawa.
