The inimitable multi-talented, multi-lingual Mike Burstyn offers us the chance to hear never-before shared anecdotes about his coming of age in and continued involvement with the Yiddish theater. Join us to learn about the struggles and triumphs of his acting parents Lillian Lux and Pesach’ke Burstyn and his encounters with the great stars of the post-Holocaust Yiddish theater who became his extended family.

This lively shmues/conversation is a continuation of the interview with Mike Burtstyn held this past March with CIYCL Director Miri Koral. This time, however, by popular demand, this program will take place entirely in Yiddish!

Mike’s anecdotes and photos will give us unprecedented insight into the rich unique world and personalities of post-War Yiddish theater in North and South America, Europe, and Israel. Mike is not only a vital link to preserving that history but he is also still very much involved in Yiddish stage and musical performance today.
