Build on the knowledge and skills you’ve previously acquired in Yiddish, and expand your Yid-dish conversation, reading, writing, and grammar skills. We will be reading and discussing children’s folktales and other texts written in various times and places, including: Y. L. Cahan’s Yiddishe Mayses, A. Bromberg rendering of the Chumash, and folk tales by Itzik Kipnis. This is an intermediate adult class with instructor Miriam Schwartz.

Prerequisites: Intermediate Yiddish Conversation 1 or prior intermediate-level Yiddish courses, or equivalent spoken Yiddish experience. Ability to read alef-bets is not necessary, as all course materials will be provided in transliteration. Presented with the Committee for Yiddish, UJA Federation
