Update – October 12, 2023 : The Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company donates all proceeds of Knock Knock in support of Israel

In light of the recent tragic events in Israel, the Harold Green Jewish Theatre Company announces its commitment to stand with our community in support and solidarity by donating 100% of the ticket-sale proceeds from our upcoming show, Knock Knock, to Beit Halochem and The Association for the Soldiers of Israel-Canada in order to help those directly impacted.

We extend our gratitude to show sponsors Toby Feldberg and family, The Canada Israel Cultural Foundation, UJA’s Kultura Collective, Greenwin and TO Live for making this significant donation possible.

With presold tickets alone, we’ve already committed $50,000 towards this donation. A sold-out run could triple this contribution. This is our chance, as a community, to rally behind our friends and family in Israel. Support the cause by purchasing a ticket, and if desired, contribute directly through the provided charity links. To ensure everyone can participate, student tickets are set at $20 for all shows. Additionally, we’re hosting two pay-what-you-choose evenings on Sunday, October 22 at 7:00 pm and Monday, October 23 at 8:00 PM.

Join us for Knock Knock, a poignant one-man show written by and starring Niv Petel, coming directly from Israel, and presented in English. It tells the story of Ilana, a single mother who is a liaison officer for the army whose job is to support families who’ve lost their sons and daughters to the wars. But when the time comes for her only son to wear the army uniform, she faces a life-changing dilemma. Through drama and comedy, Niv Petel weaves a vivid and detailed familial relationship in Knock Knock, an immersive physical monodrama about the effects of National Service on everyday life.
