Koffler Arts presents a poetry reading by Gili Haimovich, a prizewinning Israeli Canadian poet writing bilingually. She will read her poems in response to the Holocaust, its aftermath, the Jewish Diaspora, and the current Russian war against Ukraine. The programme  will conclude with questions from the audience.

Haimovich is the author of ten poetry books, including Promised Lands (US, 20220) and the multilingual book of her poem Note (Mexico, 2019). Her poetry won prizes and grants in Israel, Italy, Hong Kong and elsewhere. Translated into over than 30 languages, her poems are published worldwide in numerous anthologies and journals such as World Literature Today, The Best Asian Poetry Anthology, 101 Jewish Poems for the Third Millennium, A World Anthology of Border Poetry, New Voices: Contemporary Writers Confronting the Holocaust and The Literary Review of Canada. Her Hebrew poetry is included in major publications such as the anthologies, The Most Beautiful Poems in Hebrew – A Hundred Years of Israeli Poetry and A Naked Queen – An Anthology of Israeli Social Protest.
