Type of Exhibition: Art, Toronto

In honour of Jewish Disability Awareness, Acceptance & Inclusion Month (JDAIM), the MNjcc presents Shining with Shlemut: Celebrating Wholeness.

JDAIM is a unified effort among Jewish organizations and communities worldwide to raise awareness and foster inclusion of people with disabilities and those who love them. JDAIM is a call to action for all of us to act in accordance with our Jewish values, honoring the gifts and strengths that we each possess.

This gallery exhibition features artwork created by artists with disabilities and works that highlight Jewish disability organizations from around the world. The exhibition centres the fullness and diversity of the disability community, inviting reflection on identity, friendship, and belonging. Together, the pieces reflect the richness and creativity of this global community. Presented in collaboration with community organizations, the exhibit reflects Jewish values of inclusion, dignity, and shared humanity. Visitors are invited to explore the gallery and engage with art that honours lived experience and the many ways wholeness is expressed.
