There’s something about being Jewish in Winnipeg…

Join fellow Toronto-Winnipeggers at the Al Green Theatre for a fun, nostalgic, multifaceted evening exploring what makes the Winnipeg Jewish community so distinctive — and how that identity continues to shape Jewish life in Toronto and across Canada. Reconnect, mingle, and nosh while taking part in a trivia showdown celebrating Winnipeg memories, characters and rivalries from the  North End to the South.

The evening features an onstage conversation moderated by Ralph Benmergui, with a panel of spirited Winnipeg personalities tackling the essential questions: What made Winnipeg different? What do we carry with us? And  how does that Winnipeg spirit still define us today? The evening ends with a special screening of the heartwarming and humorous 30-minute documentary Crossing the River by Allan Novak, a film that has brought the story of Winnipeg’s beloved Fink Family to sold out audiences in Toronto, New York, Poland, Mexico…and even Winnipeg.

Following the film, Ralph Benmergui will return for a Q & A with the Filmmaker. Light refreshments will be served.
